DCMedia Cloud offers a deep permissions system to help you easily divide tasks between different members of your team.

Permissions are set at the folder level in the User Management tab.
The folder a given user is in determines the permissions that user has.

Each user also has visibility options that are set per user.

These options add the ability to control which parts of your network the user has access to.

What you can achieve with permissions and visibility

DCMedia Cloud does not charge per user, so you should always feel free to create as many users as necessary to manage your account.

The following examples show what you can achieve with DCMedia Cloud's permissions system:

1. The playlist editor and the playlist approver

Organisation WidgetsRUS has a designer who is responsible for creating content and uploading it to a DCMedia playlist for distribution. Before it can be sent out though, the playlist must be approved by the marketing manager to ensure that the content is all brand appropriate. In this case, DCMedia can be set up so that the designer has the ability to update playlists and to save changes to them, but not to deploy the updated playlist to the WidgetsRUS network. Instead, the playlist must be approved by the marketing manager before they are actually sent out to the media player network.

2. Head Office and the branch manager

National retail brand, Very Cheap Stores, has a number of screens at their stores across the country. These screens play national, state and store specific content, each handled by different teams. Each screen has been setup with a playlist composing of three sub-playlists: national, state and store. DCMedia allows Very Cheap Stores to restrict each team (national, state and store) to only be able to see, edit and approve changes to their respective playlist. In addition, DCMedia allows them to have completely separate content libraries so that the national team only see the national content and playlists, the state teams only see the state content, playlists and players and the store team only sees the content, playlists and players specific to that store.

3. The reporter

The Valuable Marketing Organisation makes its revenue through selling advertising on its digital signage network. When they submit their invoice to their clients, they are required to include a proof of play report detailing when, and how many times, each asset played. DCmedia allows the Valuable Marketing Organisation to create a user for their accounts team that is only able to generate and extract reports from the CMS.
